Establishing the importance of effective consultation within organisations
Speaker: Quintin Oliver, tCI Chair

Many consultation professionals face internal challenges that often hinder efforts to undertake effective public engagement and consultation.

The lack of support, understanding and appreciation of effective consultation processes within organisations reportedly result in colleagues having to educate senior officials about such processes and persuade reluctant colleagues that effective consultation and engagement is part of everyone's job within - despite this, it is largely seen as a hassle, rather than support.

In this session we explore these issues and discuss ways to overcome them.

The session is aimed around offering some insight then sharing thoughts and ideas to inspire each other. The session will cover 3 points:

  1. Understanding the emotional connect
  2. Top tips for effective storytelling
  3. Breaking down the bones of a story
